1st Comparision Scan

Ryan's appointment at CTCA went great!!!! :)) :))  It was a long one due to his scan; flew in on Sunday, PET Scan on Monday, exam and dr appointments on Tuesday then home. (On the months when he doesn't have a scan, he will fly in one day, have dr appointments and fly home the next.) All of his test results were excellent--blood counts were all normal, and his scan showed zero growth in the cancer!!! Praising God for that news---He is awesome!!!  :)) :)) The only area that lit up excessively was his surgical site, and for right now they are attributing that to still-healing tissue. His next appointment is in July, and his next scan will be in August. They gave him a few adjustments in meds to try to help a bit more with the side effects from the chemo, and because those effects are better now than before, they are leaving him at the same 400mg dose of Gleevec. We could not have asked for any better results--we are both overjoyed with the news!!! I feel like we were just given a 2 month free pass! For the first time since Easter Sunday, someone actually said "everything is good for now", and I will take that over "wait and see, we don't know" every single day of the week!!!! :)) :)) :))
