Blessings!!! :))

I've been trying to finish up a post with some of the fun stuff about the vow renewal this month. It's coming--and the things we've come up with to keep that event pretty darn close to free but still insanely "Awww!" inspiring are totaly worth the posting. Get your pin-it button ready, because I promise some of this stuff you will want to remember for your own frugal event planning!

For the time being though, I've been a bit sidelined. Seems to be how I role these days, and this past week was just one thing after another. Good news is, I'm not wallowing in my own tears all over your screen this morning! (I reserve those moments for those who love me most and can stand the drama :) )  Lesson learned: Life will sometimes get in the way of living. There's nothing for that but to stay on your feet and keep moving forward. So today we're moving on, and I'm about to switch-whip life back into order!

Last week in recap:

~Started a new way-of-living plan toward what will eventually be a less stressful exchange of income vs out pour. It's neither pretty nor fun, and won't be for a good while, but it's necessary and I'm committed to see it through. Not enough thanks in the world to say to the family who got down and dirty with our finances to come up with this stuff. Genius, all I can say.

~Ryan caught a bug of some sort and was down and out for days. Kids are drooping and a few are dropping all around the house. Took Ry to the er on Monday for chest x-rays and blood work--blessings were that his counts are all fantastic--FANTASTIC!!!! :)) He does however have bronchitis and a sinus infection--so he's been on meds since Monday for those. As of this morning he's back to picking on everyone and cracking himself up with his own jokes, so apparently on the mend. Another blessing! :))

~Dropping kids: took both boys to the dr yesterday. Brycen was sick last week and never recouped, but insisted he was fine. Had a soccer game Monday night, was totaly wiped out, but I'm proud to say he still played and played his best! Isaac has been complaining off and on of an ear ache since his cold abated, so the dr agreed to see both of them yesterday morning. Starting with climbing into the truck to go to the appointment, Brycen non-stop accused me of single-handedly ruining his life by taking him to the doctor when he clearly didn't need to go. Despite his little brother sitting right beside him, B insisted that I never take anyone else to the doctor. Ever. He hates going. Why would I do this to him? And he was not, under any circumstances, getting shots. Surely that was my master plan...take him unnecessarily to a ridiculously expensive appointment just to ruin his social life by keeping him out of school for the morning, and convince the doctor to give him random shots. Swear he ought to go into acting....drama queen.

Turns out, he has pneumonia, is ridiculously contagious for another 24 hours after starting his antibiotic, and so had to miss the next soccer game and two days of school. An announcement which prompted him to glare at me across the exam room and say "Great Mom. Just great. Thanks!!!" HA! Apparently my powers to "ruin his life" extend to even gross infections of the lungs....am I good or what?! Teenagers will be the death of whatever natural hair color remains inside my randomly dyed locks...I can feel this in my roots.

Isaac....my lovey little guy...turned flat out booger butt head when it was his turn to be examined. I'm talking yelling and flailing and crying and kicking the doctor. Actual full contact, foot to shin, twice. I finally drug him upside down and by one arm-pit/one thigh to the exam table, and laid on top of him while the dr looked in his ears. Up the nose was impossible because I could not squash his head still long enough, and down the throat resulted in his biting the light thingie and pulling the cover off with his teeth to be spit out onto the floor. Doctor says ear infection, and being that he did get a pretty decent look in there I went with it and now he too is on antibiotics.

All three girls go in tomorrow morning for various coughs and complaints that may or may not be related to Brycen's contagious gook. At this point what the heck? Antibiotic cocktails all around, here here!!!

~Last week, Thursday, our new puppy ran off to explore the big wide world. Ryan brought him home in August, a gift to the kids--a puppy to grow up with and something that will "probably outlive me, Babe!" (He did get swatted for that, because we do not talk like that in this house!!!) So, the pup was named Maxx, and he was barely 6 weeks old when he came home to us. Part husky, he has one bright blue eye and one green. He stole my heart at first sight, although I am admittedly not a "dogs are people too" type of person.

So last week on Thursday, a stray dog came by our house and all three of our dogs ran after it. I was able to call the older two back, but not Maxx. We drove around that afternoon, we talked to neighbors, no pup to be found. Friday I put lost-pet reports in with the dog warden and the APL, and the girls and I drove around and put fliers on every mailbox on the streets surrounding our house. Never a word nor sight of him. Monday I cleaned up and put away all his stuff... Tuesday morning, 7am, the phone rang and a woman said "I believe your puppy is here!"  Ryan went to check, and came home with a ragged, half-starved Maxx! We have loved on him and played with him and kept up a steady supply of food and water since. BLESSING!!! :))

~Worked in the office yesterday after the boys appointments, and going in to work is always insanely fun, as odd as that sounds! Another blessing--yes, I am counting!--The dream of a company I have been gifted a career through is expanding. We are moving offices next month, and I got to go see the new building yesterday. Gorgeous--simply gorgeous! I even have my own little office space! With a huge bookcase behind my desk that will house photos of all my loves perfectly! I feel like such a professional!!!! Me--a professional career person!!!! Eeeeeeee!!!!!! :D:D:D:D Blessing blessing BLESSING!!!!

I'll try to explain more in another post about the blessing counting. It's something everyone is familiar with, but counting them out loud is new to me. Feels very important though, so I'm just going to role with it. Right now I'm off to disinfect the house and purge all the clutter, and I've got a project for work I have to get done today. But, I can do it from home! Blessing!!! :))
